The authors aim to present corporate finance as the working of a small number of integrated and powerful intuitions, rather than a collection of unrelated topics. They develop the central concepts of modern finance: arbitrage, net present value, efficient markets, agency theory, options, and the trade-off between risk and return, and use them to explain corporate finance with a balance of theory and application. The well-respected author team is known for their clear, accessible presentation of material that makes this text an excellent teaching tool. Brad Jordan, known for his successful work on the RWJ Fundamentals and Essentials books, contributed to this edition. His influence will be seen particularly in the writing style with smoother coverage of topics, and the increased quality in the problem material. Average Rating: ![]() Rating: - Good so farI have used the book for about a week. It is a little difficult to provide a thorough review. Rating: - Corp Finance is a dry read, need solutions manual . . . I purchased the Ross book for a couple of MBA courses. The book is very dry. To be of any value, I recommend the solutions manual. Part of the challenge of the book is the complexity of the material. The book is comprehensive and will provide the student with the concepts needed for any finance course but more than likely the student will need to consult the college library, finance websites, etc. to help correlate the information to real world examples. The S&P card wasn't really that useful for ... Read More Rating: - Nice BookI don't know why many reviewer said that this book is bad? I think the book is written well. I read it in 3 days and learn a lot of useful knowledge. And I am clearly know some parts like CAPM that I am not understand from other books. So recommend it all in all. MC Rating: - Very bad bookI do not want to say too much, but if you try to read this book, you will know that the explanation in this book is so confused. Try it and then throw away!!! Rating: - Required book for Finance classI'm only 3 chapters deep but can already tell this will be one of those 'poor explanation' books we've all had in college. It definately helps to have some accounting knowledge before reading this text. Overall, the examples are poor, and.... just thinking about how it was written makes me want to fall asleep! |
